About LIA

The Lab Inter Arts is a non-profit experimental, performance and seminar platform for people who want to engage in the joint development and Gestaltung of projects between artistic and cultural practice and public discourse. LIA founder and director: Helmi Vent

LIA projects develop their (body and sound) materials, their communicative forms, their subject matter, and their discussion and presentation formats with the participants. Each new laboratory work involves experiments in practicing art as a practical Gestaltung, as a way of life and thinking.

In 2013, LIA celebrates its 30th anniversary with an 80-minute film journey through selected annual projects of the founding laboratory TanzMusik-Werkstatt (1983-1992), the TanzMusikTheatre-Werkstatt (1993-2008), and the Lab Inter Arts (LIA, 2008-2013) at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

LIA's ConCom projects are intercontinental in scope and bring people from different cultures together to develop joint projects. Cultural diversity shapes the adventurous search for forms of expression, communication, public discourse, and sustainable design.

In 2013, Helmi VENT was awarded the “Ars docendi State Prize for Excellence in Teaching at Austria's Public Universities”
